James Robert Laughlin "Bobby", age 74, of Lumberton, NC died on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on February 5, 1943 to the late Marvin Edward and Annie Hammonds Laughlin.    He worked with the City of Lumberton Electrical Department from May 1971 until May 2003.  After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, an avid lover of Harley's, 4-wheelers, and Mustang cars.  He also was a daily patron at McDonalds.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue Walters Laughlin; his son, James Michael Laughlin; brother, Marvin E. Laughlin; and sister, Peggy Carrillo.

Mr. Laughlin is survived by his daughters, Lisa Scott (Bobby) of Laurinburg, and Susie Flynn of FL; son, James Robert Laughlin, Jr. of FL; grandchildren, Skylar Scott, Camryn Laughlin, Amber Dishong, and Jessica Pressley; two great-grandchildren;  sister, Gloria Laughlin Summerour (Gary) of Oak Island; sister-in-law, Doris Long; special friends, Trish and Tommy Fulk, and Ruby Shook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brett Young officiating.  Burial will follow in Walters Family Cemetery.
