James Luther Lashley, age 81, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Woodhaven Nursing Center.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Blanchie Lashley.

James served in the Army and in the Navy both for two years. He worked at Burlington Industry for 38 years as the Department Supervisor. James was a past President of the Shriners, along with being a Shriner and a Mason.

Left to cherish his memories are, his wife of 58 years, Iris Lashley; three sons, James Lashley, Jr. (Wendy) of Lumberton, NC, Jeffery Monroe Lashley of Flagstaff, AZ and Courtney Lashley of Fayetteville, NC; one grandson, Ethan Lashley; daughter-in-law, Amanda Hall; one brother, Eddie Lashley, Jr. (Barbara); one brother-in-law, Tony Caulder (Sharon); nieces and nephews; Edwin Lashely (Susan), Eric Lashley (Leslie), Bryon Lashley, Stephen Lashley (Mellanie), Michael Jackson (Kim), Tyler Jackson, Hailey Jackson, Kelly Walters (Leo) and Hailey Walters; and a host of family and friends.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at New Hollywood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to graveside services from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street Lumberton, NC.
