Mr. James Lucky Hardin, age 76, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Robeson County on February 18, 1949 to the late Don Scott of Maxton, NC and the late Annie Ruth Hardin of Lumberton, NC.

In addition to his parents, James is predeceased by his two Brothers, Earl Scott and Donnie Wolf of Maxton, NC; two sisters, Carol Jean Scott of Maxton, NC and Peggy Hardin Smith of Lumberton; three step-sons, Bobby Locklear, Frankie "Sam" Locklear and Willie French Locklear of Lumberton and a very special Aunt, Susie Young of Lumberton.

James is survived by his daughters, Melissa Hardin (Earley Ray Griffin) and Shelia Hardin of Lumberton NC; one step-daughter, Carolyn Ann Locklear of Lumberton; three brothers, Donald Scott, Bobby Scott and Kenny Scott of Maxton, NC; three sisters, Billie Miller and Patt Scott Norton of Maxton, NC and  Trisha Ann Porter of Lumberton, NC. Also left to cherish his memories is his grandson, which he raised as his own, James Samuel Hardin of Lumberton; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

James has a host of friends and relatives that will miss him dearly; he was truly one of a kind.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton, NC. Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens, 774 Moss Neck Road in Lumberton, NC.
