James Franklin "Franky" Evans, Jr., age 69, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, one day before his beloved wife, Susan Yvonne Davis Evans.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on Aug. 10, 1956 to the late James F. Evans, Sr. and the late Eva Mae Butler King.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his three children, James F. Evans, III (Patricia) of Palm Harbor, FL, Stacy C. Evans (Delisa) of Pembroke and Amanda Evans Thompson (Rakeem) of Red Springs; one brother, Ronald Evans; three sisters, Gail Evans, Rita Kissham (Danny) and Rose Carroll; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Andrew (Elizabeth), Layla (Effie), Ainsleigh, Allison, Mason and an upcoming Baby Girl arriving June 2026 as well as seventeen nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00PM on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.

A joint funeral service with his wife will follow the visitation on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 3:00PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chip Bass and Pastor Kenneth Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.
