James "Jack" Dew Hardin, 81, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 at UNC Chapel Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Lillie Mae Hardin; his wife, Naomi Hardin; two brothers, Stanley Hardin and WH Hardin; sisters, Carrie Mae, Shirley Miller, Bertha Mae Hardin, and Pauline Hardin; and nieces, Joann McMillian and Heather Tilley.

He is survived by his son, Shawn Cunningham of Lumberton, NC; two brothers, Frank Hardin of Ridgeland, NC and Wayne Hardin of the home; a host of nieces and great-nieces, family and friends.

The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2026 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton.
