Mr. James Lynn Cummings, 65, of 187 Lambshire Drive, Lumberton, NC, departed this life on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.

James loved to play golf, watch NASCAR racing and play his PlayStation 4.

Mr. Cummings is preceded in death by his parents, Willie J. Cummings and Daisy Mae Cummings; a sister, Diana Jean Cummings; a brother, Samuel Cummings; and a daughter, Shaunty M. Cummings.

He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories, his daughter; Kayla S. Cummings (baby girl); his son, Tomahawk L. Bowen; his brother, Willie J. Cummings Jr. (Twyla) of Lumberton; two sisters, Wilma L. Oxendine of Pembroke and Brenda Faye Locklear (Buddy) of Rowland; two grandchildren, Lumbeeyah S. Graham and Josiyah K. Williamson; a special caregiver, Pauline Oxendine; and  a host of family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Bayside Free Will Baptist Church, 5353 Seventh Street Road in Lumberton, NC with Rev. Wayne Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
