James Earl Chavis, age 73, Born July 3, 1952, departed this life on February 16, 2026. He was preceded in death by this parents Joseph and Christina Chavis and his sister Linda Chavis.

He is survived by his daughter Jessica Chavis; one son Deshae Campbell (Hunter); his sister, Kathy Hagains and Marvin; his brother, Earnest Chavis (Kay); he was a devoted uncle to two nephews, Johnathan Hunt (Jessica) and Shawn Chavis; two nieces, Mesha Hunt, and Glenda Chavis; his ex wife Natascha Germinor; two granddaughters, Alyssia Locklear, and Laila Stubbs; two grandsons, Matthew Germinor, Javen Campbell; two special friends, Dennis Freeman and Adam Collins; and a host of family and friends.

James Earl enjoyed farming, riding horses, chewing tobacco, working on vehicles, and building different things. James Earl was a strong headed man. He would give you the shirt off his back if needed. He always had to have the first and last word when having a conversation. He would say, "If I tell you to get the bucket, the huckleberries were ripe."
