James Charles Johnson, age 83, of Fairmont, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born on July 18, 1938 in Robeson County, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brice Johnson and Ollie Rogers Johnson; one son, Demetrias Johnson; and one brother, Bobby Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Johnson of the home; a son, Gregory Johnson and wife Barbara Lynn of Fairmont, NC; two brothers, Floyd Johnson of Walkertown, NC and Smitty Johnson and wife Sue of Fairmont, NC; a grandson, Christopher Johnson and wife Bridget of Poquoson, VA; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 6:00-8:00PM at the home, 756 Oakdale Church Road in Fairmont, NC 28340.

Burial will be held at a later date.
