Mr. James Edward Carter, age 64, of Lumberton passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 2:00PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Revs. Richard Barnes, Gary Deese and Hilton Woodell officiating. Burial will follow in Reedy Branch Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 7-9 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. Mr. Carter was born October 1, 1949 in Robeson County. He was preceded in death by his father, James (Pete) Carter of Lumberton; two brothers, Walter Garry Carter of Lumberton and Randy Maris Carter of Fairmont. He was a roofer and a US Army Veteran. Mr. Carter is survived by his son, Brian Edward Carter of Baltimore, MD; his mother, Christine S. Carter of Lumberton; four brothers, Carlton R. Sampson of Red Springs, Ricky L. Carter, Ronnie D. Carter, and Johnny L. Carter, all of Lumberton; three sisters, Debra Carter Locklear and Rhonda Carter Hunt both of Lumberton, and Nancy Carter Reynolds of Cummings, GA.; three grandchildren, Tonya Carter, Justin Carter, and Anthony Carter all of Baltimore, MD; a special aunt, Mary (Aunt Baby) Hunt; a special friend, Billy Emmanuel; 22 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
