LUMBERTON - Mr. James Earl Brooks, age 78, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home. He was born in Robeson County on October 1, 1936. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 2:00PM at McDonald Holiness Church in McDonald with Rev. Franklin Bartley and Marvin Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Brooks Family Cemetery at the home. A time of visitation will be held at the home on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 6:00-8:00PM at 1932 Dallas Road, Lumberton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Mae Hunt Brooks and a son, James Arnold Brooks. Mr. Brooks leaves to cherish his memories, three sons, Billy (Minnie) Brooks of Lumberton, Gerald (Phyllis) Brooks of Fairmont and Charles (Brenda)Brooks of Hope Mills; two daughters, Lisa (Terry) Oxendine and Janice Jackson (Earl McMillan), all of Lumberton; one brother, two sisters, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
