James Lonnie Brisson, Sr., age 85, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born April 3, 1932 in Bladen County to the late John & Lunnie Brisson. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served on the USS Begor APD 127 during the Korean War, and was known for his work later as a TV repairman at Robeson Radio & TV Shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Louise Dawson; and two grandsons: Matthew Hester and Jonathan Brisson.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Walton Brisson of the home; his children: James L. Brisson, Jr. and wife Robin of Ocean Isle Beach, John Dexter Brisson of Lumberton, Audrey Brisson Kinlaw and husband Kelly of Fayetteville, and Amanda Brisson Britt and husband Alan of Lumberton; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Yvonne Herring of Columbia, SC; one brother-in-law, Gene Walton and wife Dale of Lumberton; and special niece, Debra Osbourne and husband Wayne of Red Springs.

The family will be receiving friends at 409 W. 26th Street in Lumberton.

A time of visitation will take place on Friday, September 29, 2017, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Gray's Creek Church of God in St. Pauls. Burial will follow at Rozier Family Cemetery in Lumberton.
