James "Ronald" Barnes, age 77, of Lumberton, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 after a brief stay at Elizabethtown Nursing Center in Elizabethtown.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on July 24, 1947 to the late Roman Barnes and the late Christine Connor Barnes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Stefanie Dawn Barnes and an infant brother, John Malcom Barnes.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Ann Rowland Barnes, of the home; one son, David Barnes (Claudia) of Lumberton; his sister, Phyllis Barnes Williams (Kenny) of Lumberton; his nephew, Joseph Williams, and his children, Evan and Josie Williams, all of Lumberton; his niece, Jamie Williams Chappell (Quinton) of Raleigh and his honorary grandchildren, Leah Hathaway and Tyler Stone.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 3:00PM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton with Rev. Johnny Bruce officiating.  A time of visitation will follow at the cemetery.
