Jake Overman, age 70, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. He was born in Randolph County, NC on September 13, 1943 to the late Rufus and Rosa Overman. He previously worked for Motes Blueberries. Mr. Overman is survived by three sisters, Susie Ferguson of Liberty, Kathy McPherson of Creedmoor, and Betty Joyce of Fayetteville; a special child, Steven Ryan Quintero; and a special friend, Frederia Stephens. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Colly Chapel Cemetery in White Lake, NC. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 PM in the Chapel prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hog Swamp Baptist Church, Wire Grass Road, Lumberton, NC 28358.
