Mr. Jackie Hampton Talton, age 76, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Southeastern Hospice House of Lumberton. He was born in Clayton, NC on October 5, 1938 to the late Wade Hampton and Vivian Irene Talton. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, where he worked on missile silos during his years of service. He will be remembered for his service and dedication to his church, Cedar Grove Baptist Church. As a member he held various positions, including Deacon, Secretary of the Men's Sunday School Class, and member of the Brotherhood of Cedar Grove. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: James Cephus Talton, Alfred Jennings Talton, and Richard Wade Talton; and one sister, Alice Talton Strickland. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sarah Johnson Talton of the home; one son, Brad McKenzie and wife, Gypsy, of Clemmons; one sister, Jo Talton McCarver of Houston, TX; and two grandchildren: Mendy McKenzie and Cody McKenzie. A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2015, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Following visitation, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev.
