Mr. Jack Dempsey Carter, age 88, of Lumberton, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Souteastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born on November 27, 1924 to the late Will Carter and the late Gabby Monroe Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanchie Carter; a son, "Buck" Carter; a daughter, Lois Oxendine and a grandchild, Adrian Oxendine. Mr. Carter is survived by his son, Wade Carter of Lumberton; his daughter, Alice Carter of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Patrick Hammonds, Deion Oxendine, Wayne Carter (Shelia), Kim Jacobs (Kevin), Crystal Stueck (Shaine), Timothy Hammonds (Sherry), Michelle Hammonds, Crissy Hardison (Chris) and Jackie Oxendine. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, February 04, 2013 from 6:00-9:00PM at 444 Cunningham Circle, Lumberton. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Christian Cemetery at 3:00PM.
