Mr. Isiah "Junior" Taylor, age 88, of Fairmont, NC departed this life on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at his residence in Fairmont, NC surrounded by his family and his loving wife of 68 years.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Isiah Taylor, Sr. and Cora Ethel Jacobs Taylor; his son, Larry Taylor; a grandson, Jerry Lynn Taylor; one brother, T.R. Taylor; and one sister, Cora Lee Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elton Lee Hunt Taylor of the home; one son, Paul Douglas Taylor (Belinda) of Fairmont, NC; 2 daughters, Sylvia Taylor Johnson (Ricky) and Cynthia "Cindy" Taylor Lowry (Ricky) of Pembroke, NC; a special daughter-in-law, Vayda Hunt Taylor of Fairmont, NC; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Edgar Taylor (Diane) of Georgia, Melvin Taylor (Lisa) of Charlotte, NC, and Terry Taylor (Margaret) of Fairmont, NC; and a host of family and friends.

He was a faithful lifetime member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where he served as a leader and deacon for many years. He was an entrepreneur of Fairmont, NC, owning and operating Fairmont Tire since 1966. He was devoted to his shop and his customers, always going above and beyond. He was also a strong community leader in the historical town of Fairmont, NC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He taught his family many things, but this sums up everything: This earthly life is temporary as we are only passing through, make lots of memories, love hard, forgive often, cherish the moments, make every day count, always love your neighbor, put God first, and family is everything.

A graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Howard Jacobs at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at 1:00 pm.
