Isaac Floyd, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Isaac Floyd, Sr., age 87, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018, surrounded by family and friends, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born December 3, 1930 to the late Fred Floyd and the late Theresa McCollum Floyd. He began working for Lowe's in 1968 driving trucks and making deliveries. He was a man of great strength, carrying several sheets of dry wall without the assistance of anyone else. Isaac retired from Lowe's after 35 years and 4 months. When Isaac was given the opportunity he enjoyed playing his many harmonicas, singing, and lifting weights. With his wife, Ora Mae, he shared a bond of friendship and love for close to 67 years. Together they raised 16 children.
Isaac was a devoted member of the Lumberton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses since October 8, 1955. He was a very zealous full time minister, sharing the good news of God's Kingdom with everyone he met.

. Isaac lived up to that name with his many stories that brought laughter to our hearts. He displayed a warm smile and shared his melodious voice with so many of us. He will be greatly missed as a devoted and cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Isaac was preceded in death by his father, Fred Floyd; his mother, Theresa McCollum Floyd; step-mother, Jannie McCall-Floyd; his brother, Albert Floyd; his sister, Loretta McKeller; and his granddaughter, Alyshia Ramilla Gravely.
He is survived by his brother, Perry Floyd (Johnsie), as well as a beautiful and supportive wife, Ora Mae Floyd. Additionally his memory and legacy continue with his children: Larry Floyd (Teresa) of Lumberton, NC, Isaac Floyd Jr. (Patricia) of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Dean Floyd of Carrboro, NC, Mary Elizabeth Fulmore (Freddie) of Orrum, NC, Valencia Taylor (William) of Florence, SC, Sarah Floyd of Brandon, FL, Alton Wayne Floyd (Cassandra) Durham, NC, David Floyd (Gourun Barra) of Los Angeles, CA, Merlin Carnell Floyd (Leanne) of Kennesaw, GA, Phillip Floyd (Michelle) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cassandra Floyd of Smyrna, GA, Maurice Floyd (Eureka) of Jacksonville, NC, Wendell Floyd (Stacy) of Marietta, GA, Teresa Savage (Louis) of Eastvale, CA, Porsha Floyd Dukes of Hope Mills, NC, and Trevena O'Neal (Vincent) of Charlotte, NC. Also, Isaac has 34 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends that he leaves to cherish his memory.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5
th
Street in Lumberton.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 918 Piney Grove Road in Lumberton. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton.
