Mrs. Iris Dell Sealey Carter, age 81, of Lumberton, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on January 16, 1938, to the late Carlos B. Sealey and the late Frances Floyd Sealey.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Carter; two brothers, Wayne B. Sealey and Larry W. Sealey; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Thrush.

She is survived by one son, Anthony Carter and wife Twyla of Lumberton; two daughters, Pam C. Walters and husband Ronnie and Sheila Maxwell and husband Chuck, all of Lumberton; four grandchildren: Nicole Martin and husband James, Ginny Stallings, Hollie Thrush and husband Aaron, and Ashley Carter; seven great-grandchildren: Jordan Martin, Sarah Martin, Paeton Stallings, Makenzie Carter, Matthew Thrush, Nathan Thrush, and Austin Thrush; two sisters, Gail Fields of Lumberton and Violet Lewis and husband Bobby of Fairmont; a sister-in-law, Pansy Sealey of Longs, SC; and a special friend, Linda Martin.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Gardens of Faith Cemetery with Rev. Brett Young officiating.
