Iola Brayboy Ransom was born July 13, 1925 in Robeson County. She was 84 years old. She departed this life on April 7, 2010 in the loving arms of her family.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel, the Revs. Chris Jones, James Earl Hunt, and Grady Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William Ransom Jr.; sisters, Mary Jane Seals and Viola Cummings; and brothers, Danny Brayboy, John Brayboy, Robert Brayboy, Graham Brayboy, June Brayboy and Dalman Lowery.

She is survived by a son, Glenn Ransom of Pembroke; two daughters,Ellen Hunt (James) of Rowland and Kaye Hernandez of Lumberton; nine grandchildren, Nellie M. Montes (Ismael) of Whiteville, Media Campbell(Gilbert) of Rowland, Timmy Ransom of Pembroke, James Hunt (Tonya) of
Texas, Sebette Locklear (Corey) of Lumberton, Suzie Locklear (Alex) of Pembroke, Monica Hernandez (Randall) of Lumberton, Angel Ransom of Charlotte, and Sara Ransom of Charlotte; and 24 great-grands, Daniel Ransom Miller, Collin Montes, Jordan Campbell, Chelsi Ransom, Crickett Oxendine, Tia Hunt, Tori Hunt, Jackson Hunt, Kaycee Boulet, Kourtnee Thomas, Chloe Locklear, Paige Locklear, Logan Locklear, Corey Locklear, Saybrianna Locklear, Blake Locklear, Joshua Scott, Mackenzie Locklear, Ethan Locklear, Nylola Herandez, Ay\\chr(39)lina Lopez, Na\\chr(39)ryia Lopez, Aiyana Ransom, Noylan Bullard; a great-great-grandchild, Jolecia Perez; a surviving sister, Ellen Kit Oxendine of Pembroke; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was the Matriarch of this family and will be loved, missed, and cherished by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Floyd Funeral Services, Fairmont and other times at the home of her daughter, Ellen Hunt (James Albert) 280 McRae Road, Rowland.
