Mrs. Ingrid Wesp Bass, age 83, of Fairmont, NC, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Mrs. Ingrid was born October 28, 1938 in Darmstadt, West Germany.

Mrs. Ingrid was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved being at home taking care of her children and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Wesp and Dora Knobloch Wesp; her husband, James Alfred Bass; and three sons: Glenn Franklin Bass, Michael Alfred Bass, and Stacy Phillip Bass.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, James Stephen Bass of the home; one brother, Heimo Wesp and wife Corneilla of Jugenheim, West Germany; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Rita Bass and Mary Hollingsworth; two special friends, Millie Lee and Margaret Byrd; and, also, a host of other family members and friends.

A time of visitation will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 6:00-8:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road in Fairmont, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 11:00AM at Oakdale Baptist Church, 1267 Oakdale Church Road in Fairmont, NC with Rev. Jackie Spillers officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont, NC.
