Mrs. Hula Smith Burge, age 85, of Lumberton, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Village Green Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville. She was born in Cumberland County on April 30, 1928 to the late Walter Roland Smith and the late Hattie Melvin Smith. Mrs. Burge is survived by her husband, Victor S. Burge of the home; one son, Steve Burge and wife, Bonnie of Evergreen, NC; one daughter, Vickie Burge of Fayetteville, NC; a grandson, Steven Burge and wife, Brandy and one great-granddaugther, Victoria Burge. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 1:00-2:00PM at Godwin Heights Baptist Church in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00PM at Godwin Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Lynn Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.
