Hugh Clarence Britt, age 68, of Lumberton, NC died on Friday, December 16, 2016.  He was born in Robeson County, NC on February 29, 1948 to the late Clarence Britt and the late Frances Inman Britt.  He was a veteran of the United States National Guard and he was a welder for ACME Electric.

Mr. Britt is survived by his son, Hugh Inman Britt (fiancé, Sheila Bennett) of Lumberton; daughter, Sheila Alston of Cary; brother Cameron Britt (Beverly) of Lumberton; sister, Ann Britt Bailey (Tom) of Cary; and two grandchildren, Thomas Cole Alston and Emersyn Faith Britt.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Joe Bounds officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Meadowbrook Cemetery.  A time of visitation will precede the service on Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
