Mr. Howard Cecil Reaves, Sr., age 86, of Lumberton, NC, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Robeson County, NC on January 8, 1935 to the late Giles M. Reaves and the late Bertha Alford Reaves. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was later employed with Liberty Life Insurance Co.

He is survived by his wife Mona B. Reaves of the home; three sons: Howard Reaves, Jr. (Lisa) and Joseph Martin Reaves (Beverly), both of Lumberton, NC, and John Mark Reaves (Melissa) of Rowland, NC; two daughters, Cheryl Reaves Faulk (Jerry) and Ramona Gaye Carroll, both of Lumberton, NC; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patsy Lowe of Burlington, NC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 1:00-3:00 PM at East Lumberton Baptist Church in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM with Rev. Michael Bowen officiating.

Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
