TSGT Howard Thomas Mercer (AF Ret.) 70, of 2319 Lamb Road, died
August 15, 2008 at home after a long illness.
Mr. Mercer spent 20 years in the Air Force serving his country.
He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Thomas Mercer;
mother, Beulah Blanch Russ Mercer; a step-son, Michael Dale Cyrs; and
brother, James Harvey Mercer.
He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Patricia Cyrs Mercer of the
home; a son, Randy Dean Mercer and wife, Carolyn of Lumberton; a son,
Ricky Lee Mercer and wife, Melinda of Rogers, AR; and a brother, Lloyd
Roland Mercer and wife, Peggy of Lumberton; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl
Wright Cyrs of Littleton, NH; 5 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; and several
uncles and aunts.
The funeral service will be Monday, August 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Singletary Baptist Chrcuh with Rev. Greg Locklear and Rev. Mitchell Nance officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
