Herbert Ellis Tyner, 90, of 1170 Linkhaw Road, Lumberton, NC died Monday, December 1,
2008 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. He was born in Robeson County, NC
on June 6, 1918 to the late Alexander Tyner and Lora Prevatt Tyner.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Belle Townsend Tyner of Linkhaw Place, Lumberton, NC;
3 sons, Bobby E. Tyner and wife, Grace of Whiteville, NC, James Kenneth Tyner and wife,
Gloria of Lumberton, NC and Sandy Richard Tyner and wife, Sandra of Bolivia, NC; 2 brothers,
Melvin Tyner and Wayne Tyner both of Lumberton, NC; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren;
and 2 great great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Floyd Memorial Chapel in
Lumberton, NC at 2 P.M. with the Rev. Tim Tyner and Dr. Wayne Tyner officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Floyd
Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton, NC and other times at the home of Ken and Gloria
Tyner, 39 Sedgefield Drive, Lumberton, NC.
