Rev. Henry Carson Bruce, age 87, of Lumberton passed away at his home on Monday, September 23, 2024. Henry was born on June 26, 1937 to the late Lewis E. Bruce, Sr. and Nora Lee Carter Bruce. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Rona Frayne Bruce; sisters, Martha Bruce Byrd and Betty Hester McCray; sister-in-law, Joyce Simpson Bruce.

Henry was pastor of Berea Baptist Church in Lumberton for over 25 years. He also was a carpentry instructor for Robeson Community College for 27 years. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Henry proudly served his country in the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Ann Smith Bruce, daughter, Tammy von Taborsky and husband Will; sister, Marion Martian and husband Arthur; brothers, Lewis Bruce, Jr., and Billy Bruce and wife Joanne; grandchildren, Paula Janell Britt and husband, Dillon, and Carson von Taborsky; and daughter-in-law, Karen Brown Bruce.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC. Rev. Aubrey Swett will officiate the service.
