Helen Townsend's Obituary
Helen Benton Townsend, 85, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Southeastern Health in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on February 28, 1931 to the late Joseph and Pearl Benton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, J.M. Townsend.
She is survived by two sons: Ray Townsend and wife Debra & Mike Townsend and wife Vi, both of Lumberton; one brother, Johnny Benton of Gastonia; one sister, Illa Mae Britt of Lumberton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at 3:00 PM at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lumberton with Rev. Norman Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Women's Ministry of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 812 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.
