Ms. Helen Walters Hardin, age 98, of Orrum, NC, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019, at her home. She was born September 1, 1921 in Robeson County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Hovis Walters and Masouria Hammonds Walters; her husband, James Hardin; two daughters, Sandra Lane and Vivian Martin; two brothers, Hovis Walters and James Walters; and four sisters: Hazel Elvington, Tomasso Barnes, Yuba Dane Herring, and Jean Stone.

She is survived by one son, James Louie Hardin of Chadbourn, NC; two daughters, Patricia Herring and Juda Walters, both of Orrum, NC; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and twenty-five great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ann Hayes of Fairmont, NC, Sabrina Tatum of Clarkton, NC, and Diane Pate of Georgia.

A visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 2:00-3:00PM at Barnesville Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00PM with Rev. John Spence officiating.

Burial will follow in Barnesville Community Cemetery.
