Helen Pittman Chandler, age 87, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014, at Southeastern Hospice House of Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on August 31, 1927 to the late Dan and Augusta Duncan Pittman. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lenwood Chandler, two brothers, Johnny Pittman and Billy Pittman, three sisters, Ruth Jolly, Bonnie Barnes, and Margie McKenzie, two step-sisters, a grandson, Michael Helgren, and also her first husband, Douglas Keith Helgren. She is survived by her son, Danny Helgren and wife, Colleen, of Arizona, her daughter, Joan Britt and husband, Neil, of Lumberton, one brother, Jimmy Pittman of Lumberton, three sisters, Betty West of Lumberton, Peggy Cothran of Fayetteville, and Janice Smith of Virginia Beach, VA, and her beloved dog, Buzzie.
