Mrs. Hazel Smith Musselwhite, age 79, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, formerly of Lumberton, passed away on March 30, 2014. She was born in Robeson County on January 6, 1935. She was a beloved mother and sister to her family as well as many friends that she met through life's journey. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Thomas Musselwhite; her father, Kelly Smith; her mother Mary Owens Smith Thompson and her stepfather, Ulysses Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Edward Smith, Howard Smith, Johnson Smith and Jimmy Smith. Mrs. Musselwhite is survived by her daughter, Joann and husband, Hoyt W. Booth of Holden Beach, NC; her sister, Betty Smith Ford of Virginia Beach, VA; her brother Bobby Smith and his wife, Kathleen of Lumberton, NC; her brother-in-law, Wayne Musselwhite of Murfreesboro, TN and her sister-in-laws, Jayne Fountaine of Charlotte, NC, Bonnie Smith and Belinda Smith both of Lumberton, NC, Gloria Smith of New York and Rose Smith of Greenville, SC. In addition, she is survived by 11 nephews, 6 nieces and numerous extended family members and friends that she loved dearly. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton and other times at: 5105 Live Oak Lane, Lumberton, NC. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:00AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton with Rev. Leslie Sessoms officiating.
