Mr. Harvey Clayton Singletary, age 80, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2015. He was born in Robeson County on February 16, 1934. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 8:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont with Revs. Johnny Locklear and Scott Hammonds officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 from 6:00-8:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. Mr. Singletary was in the Army from 1952-1956. He was also an Air Force Paratrooper from 1956-1964. He graduated from Lumberton High School in 1952. He lived in Lumberton from birth to 1956 when he joined the Military. He moved from Stockport England to Lumberton in 1964. He retired from Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by a son. Mr. Singletary leaves to cherish his memories, his soulmate Velma Roberge of 42 years; step daughters, Cathy Locklear and husband Mark of Aberdeen, Audrey Cox and husband James Michael of Lumberton, and Jacqueline Hunt of Fairmont; one son, Harvey Singletary Jr.; and two daughters, Deborah Singletary and Valerie Singletary of Stockport, England.
