Mr. Harold Ray Prevatte, age 87, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at his home in Lumberton, NC, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Prevatte was born December 7, 1934, in Pembroke, NC, to the late Lewis Milton Prevatte and Alma Orilla Arnette Prevatte. He ventured out to Pompano Beach, FL in the early 1960s and started Atlantic Glass and Mirror Company, which he grew into a very successful business over the next 30 years. He never lost his love for the country life and would eventually move back to Robeson County, NC and purchase a beautiful farm in the country.  He enjoyed raising hogs and cows and cultivating the land.

He is survived by Shelby Jean West Prevatte, whom he married in 1952; his children: Tanya Rae Prevatte Lloyd (Steve), Rannah Jean Prevatte Clifton (Daniel), Steven Harold Prevatte, and Gregory Scott Prevatte (Marlo); 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Jean Prevatte Stone (Leo).

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Lewis Edward, William Carl, Earl Thad, Robert Dalton, and Margaret Lucille Prevatte Bruce.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 1:00-2:45 at Antioch Baptist Church, 5089 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM with Rev.  Blake Dodd and Rev. Mark Meadows officiating.

Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens, 3720 Old Whiteville Road in Lumberton, NC.
