Hal A. Stephens, age 74, of Lumberton, NC died on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born in Robeson County, NC on October 30, 1935 to John W. and Fannie Nye Stephens. He was happily married for fifty-six years and employed at Southeastern Regional Medical Center for fifty-five years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carolyn Stephens Mercer.

Mr. Stephens is survived his wife, Doris ??Ann? Mercer Stephens of the home; two sons, Edgar Hal Stephens of Myrtle Beach, SC and Kenneth Dale Stephens and wife Mary of Hendersonville, NC; two daughters, Wanda Stephens Bridgeman and husband Anthony of Southport, NC and Rhonda Stephens Warren and husband Eddie of Lumberton, NC; two brothers, Oliver Yates Stephens of Fairmont, NC and John Marvin Stephens of Fairmont, NC; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton. Burial will follow in the Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
