Hal Michael Evans, age 72, of Fairmont passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton.

Mr. Evans was born August 21, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Hal Evans and the late Olive Liming Evans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katie McNeil Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Theresa Barfield of the home; one daughter, Andrea McNeil (Scott) of Fairmont, NC; one brother, Pat Evans of Conway, SC; two sisters, Deborah Comstock (Larry) of Panama City, Fla.; and Laura Cooper (Russell) of Conway, SC; Mother, Sandra Huggins of Conway, SC; one granddaughter, Sarah McNeil; and two great-grandchildren, Kailynn and Madison Miller and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM  at the Evans Family Cemetery at 6354 NC Hwy. 904, Fairmont. Family will receive friends at the cemetery.
