Gwen Davis Stanley, of Lumberton, passed peacefully in her sleep Friday, January 15, 2010. A 20 year nursing career and 20 years in textiles, she loved caring for her patients at Len Care of Elizabethtown, The Cancer Institute, and GlenFlora Nursing facilities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stanley of Bladenboro, and parents Henry Buck Davis and Louise Richter Stallings of Lumberton. She is survived by her step-mother, Linda Davis, a son Greg and his wife Kelly, two grandchildren Elizabeth and John. Also survived by 6 siblings, Carol Mitchell of Carrollton, Virginia, Rhonda Hardin, Mike Davis, Robin Phillips, Tommy Stallings, and Lynn Chance of Lumberton, many nieces, nephews, and a special pet Boston Terrier, Mikey. A graveside service will take place Tuesday 3pm in the Stanley Family Cemetery, Bladenboro. Visitation will follow the services at the cemetery.
