Grace Ellen Godwin Locklear, age 76 of Lumberton, NC died on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. She was born in Robeson County, NC on March 19, 1933 to the late Quinn and Carrie Emanuel Godwin. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hoover Locklear.

Mrs. Locklear is survived by two daughters, Patty Monroe and husband David of St. Pauls, NC and Cynthia Young and husband Scott of the home; three sisters, Texxie Stephens of Lumberton, NC, Marcie Sampson of Pembroke, NC and Betty Buchanan of Griffin, GA; special friend, Shirley Parker of Parkton, NC; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. A special thanks to Companion Home Health and Certified Nursing Assistant Anna Lambert.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Romie Revels and Rev. William Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday evening, February 25, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
