Mrs. Glenna Martin Thornton, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mount Airy, NC on May 31, 1950 to the late George & Laura Martin.

Glenna, retired for many years, spent her later years working in her yard and caring for the love of her life, Gordon Thornton. They were united in holy matrimony October 1968 and shared 52 years together in Faison, NC.

Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of their children, Shelley Stephens and husband Danny Morris Stephens of Lumberton, NC and Douglas Thornton and wife Marcie Thornton of Nebraska; her grandchildren: Gage, Andrew (Christina), Mya, and Danielle (Forrest). She is also survived by her siblings: Billie Hansen of Winston-Salem, NC, Marvin Martin of St. Pauls, NC, and Michael Martin of Lumberton, NC; and special friends: Pat and Jackie Benson and James Goodman, all of Faison, NC.

A private ceremony for family and close friends will be held at Glenna's home to celebrate her life.

The family will be receiving friends and loved ones at the home.
