Mr. Glen Gordon Burnette, Sr. 90, of Fairmont, was born March 11, 1934. in Robeson County. He departed this life on June 20, 2024, at UNC Health Southeastern Hospital in Lumberton, NC.

Mr. Burnette is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Lacy Burnette and Mrs. Kathleen Lowry-Burnette. His wife of 51 years, Mrs. Janet Chavis Burnette, son Mr. Ricky Brooks, grandson Joshua Brooks, four sisters, Mrs. Clementine Martin, Mrs. Mary Porce, Mrs. Hazel Hammonds, Mrs. Minnie Chavis and three brothers Mr. Eddie "Buck" Lowry, Mr. Archie Lowry, and Mr. Leroy Lowry.

He has one living sister, Mrs. Margaret Locricchio of St. Clair, Michigan and brother Mr. Lacy Elmer Burnette of Baltimore, Maryland.

Mr. Burnette is survived by a daughter, Ms. Janet D. Burnette of Fairmont, NC; sons Dr. Glen Gordon Burnette, Jr., and wife Mrs. Kathy Burnette of Lumberton, NC, Mr. Phillip A. Burnette and wife Mrs. Eva Burnette of Raleigh, NC, Mr. Jeffrey R. Brooks, Sr., and wife Mrs. Coleen Brooks of Pembroke, NC, and deceased son's wife, Mrs. June Brooks of Raleigh, NC. Mr. Burnette also leaves behind a special friend of many years, Mrs. Shelby Chavis of Pembroke, NC. Also, he is survived by eleven grandchildren: Zack, Stephanie, Randal, Holli, Brandi, Amber, Gordon, Bradley, Alex, Mercedes, and Shane; five great grandchildren, Makayla, Hailey, Holton, Samantha, Seth, and six great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services, 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont, NC.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Floyd Funeral Services Chapel.

Burial will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens, 774 Moss Neck Road, Lumberton, NC.
