Gladys Jacobs Chapman age 86 of Fairmont passed away Tuesday October 6, 2015 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Great Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Great Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday October 8, 2015 at Great Hope Baptist Church from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. She was born April 10, 1929 to the late Henry and Martha Clark Jacobs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Chapman and a son, Phillip Dial; six brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by three daughters; Alberta Locklear of Raeford NC, Bernice Hunt of Roanoke RapidsvNC, and Mary Francis Britt of Fairmont; one brother, William H. Jacobs of Fairmont; two sisters, Ellree Ransom and Hazel Campbell, both of Fairmont; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
