Gladys Turner Baxley, age 83, passed away Friday, January 02, 2015, at Southeastern Hospice House of Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on June 12, 1931 to the late Lewis and Dollie Turner. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Alton Baxley, and a granddaughter, Melissa Gail Baxley. She is survived by one son, James Edward Baxley and wife, Phyllis, of Lumberton; one daughter, Kathy Lamb and husband, Jamie, of Lumberton; two sisters: Lula Mae Mishue of Lumberton and Pearl McLean of Bladenboro; three grandchildren: Tracey Lynn Smith, Jimmy Wayne Baxley, and Junior Freeman, and six great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will take place on Sunday, January 4, 2015, from 7:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM in Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ed Wilcox officiating. Entombment will take place on Monday, January 5, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
