Gertie Mae Lambert age 74 of Rowland passed away Thursday October 9, 2015 at Golden Living in Lumberton. Funeral services will be held Sunday October 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Dogwood Baptist Church with Revs. James Albert Hunt and Tracy Locklear officiating. Burial will follow at Fair Point Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be held Saturday October 10, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Funeral Services in Fairmont. Mrs. Lambert was born in Robeson County on January 22, 1941. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ranford and Pearlie Oxendine; a daughter, Betty Lee Lambert Hunt; one sister, Dorothy Lewis; and a brother Linwood Oxendine. She is survived by her husband Carlie Lambert of the home; seven sons, Levon Oxendine (Linda) of Climax, NC; Tommy Hunt (Doris) of Greensboro, NC, James Locklear (Katherine), Junior Locklear, and William Lambert (JoAnna), all of Lumberton, Terry Locklear of Pembroke, Ricky Lambert (Suzette) of Lake Waccamaw; three daughters, Kim Jackson(Kenneth) of Lumberton, Martin Lynn Locklear of Pembroke, and Joann Locklear of Fairmont; three brothers, Branford Oxendine (Annie), and William Oxendine, all of Rowland, and Elwood Oxendine of Pemrboke; six sisters, Berta Mae Chavis of Fairmont, Lessie Mae Ledwell of Pembroke, Annie Bell Tillman of Greensboro, NC, Letha Bartley of Orrum, Retha Scott (Donnie), and Vicky Hammonds, all of Rowland; twenty one grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
