Gerotha Leigh Wilcox Cox, age 83, of Lumberton, NC died on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.  She was born in Robeson County, NC on October 26, 1933 to the late Evander and Lillian Cribb Wilcox.  She was a long time active member at West Lumberton Baptist Church.  She received a certificate for reading the Bible through in 2016.  She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.  She enjoyed singing in the choir. She was always cooking and baking for people in need.  She was a seamstress at the Fashion Bar for over 45 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stinson Cox; brothers, Earl Wilcox, Bill Wilcox, and Charles Wilcox; and a sister, Dola Mazoo.

Mrs. Cox is survived by her sons, Randy Cox (Jenny) of Morehead City and Andy Cox (Barbara) of Lumberton; a daughter, Kathy Cox Sutton of Lumberton; brother, Jimmy Wilcox of Moncks Corner, SC; sisters, Lula Willoughby, Margaret Nance, Geraldine Haliburton, and Brenda Taylor all of Lumberton; six grandchildren, Daniel Britt, Jamie Sutton, Ashley Cox, Emily Cox, William Cox, and Mia Cox; and four great-grandchildren, Jaden Britt, Logan Britt, Dawson Britt, and Waylon Britt.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Rick Foreman and Rev. Michael Bowen officiating.  Burial will follow the service at New Hollywood Cemetery.  A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton.
