Gerlene Locklear Porter,69, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully at her home on January 26, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Gerlene was born on Aug.13,1956 in Lumberton, to the late John Howard and the late Annie Mae Locklear.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who touched the lives of so many people with her kindness, humor, and spirit. Gerlene loved doing puzzles, going to church, watching tv (especially Madea) and spending time with her loving family. To know Gerlene was to know love. She was a devoted employee at Contempora fabrics for over 40 years before she retired. Gerlene had the best hugs that could take away any worry. Gerlene was a member of McDonald church of God where every member was family.

Gerlene was preceded in death by her former husband's Little Richard" Buck" Porter and Spencer Hunt and a former best friend, the late Shelia Barksdale (Curtis).

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children Annie Lee Porter (Earic) of Lumberton, Lonnie Porter and Little Annie Porter both of the home; grandchildren Nataveia, Billy, Richard, a Grandpup Chloe' , Lonnie Jr, Mary, Maria, Tiffany, Alan, Earic Jr, Omarion, Jahon, Lazaraus, Ashandra; two sisters Darlene Locklear and Susan Locklear (Charles) and one brother, Jason Locklear; a very special sister/cousin, Diane Locklear of the home and many nieces and nephews. Forever friends which included Curtis Barksdale, Seann' Breeden, Steven Jones & Sasha McRae and all the others she encountered over the years.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc., 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont. The funeral will immediately follow in the chapel at 2:00PM.

Burial will follow in Fairpoint Church Cemetery in Fairmont, NC.
