George Harold Wood, 79, of 1000 Wesley Pines Road, died Monday, July 7,
2008 at Wesley Pines Retirement Center. He was born to the late Avery and
Mildred Jackson Wood on November 23, 1928 in Greenville, S.C.
He is survived by his wife, Meta McManus Wood of the home; 2 sons, George
R. Wood and wife, Titian of Clayton and Benjamin H. Wood and wife, Sally Ann
of Garner; 4 daughters, Pamela Wood-Dundas and husband, Ralph of Farifax, VA,
Patricia Wood and husband, Ed Long of Centerville, VA, Anna Wood Readling
and husband, Keith of Cary, N.C. and Beverly Wood of Cary, N.C.; and 2
grandchildren, Ann Bryant Wood and Ethan Wood.
The memorial service will be Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Chestnut
Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Little officiating.
The family will receive friends following the services at Chestnut Street United
Methodist Church.
