Mr. George "Pete" Stephens, Jr., age 79 of 1504 Jenkins Rd. Fairmont, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Centerville Baptist Church at 3:00 pm with Rev. Ed Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:00-3:00 pm at Centerville Baptist Church prior to the service. Mr. Stephens was born April 21, 1934 in Robeson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Glen Dora Bissell Stephens; two brothers, David and Paul Stephens. He is survived by his wife, Neta Rose Hedgpeth of the home; two daughters, Donna Stephens Smith (Ronald) of Lumberton, Allison Stephens Flowers (Jimmy) of Fairmont; a son, Gregory Keith Stephens (Sheila) of Fairmont; two sisters, Emma Lois Whitley of Raleigh and Mildred Martin of Port Charlotte, FL; eight grandchildren, Shaun Barkley ( Lea), Ryan Barkley (Kathleen), Keith Stephens (Staci), Karen Williamson (Kinly), David DaBella, Daniel DaBella, Jesse Flowers, Victoria Flowers; five great-grandchildren, Walker and Jennings Barkley, Maddox and Carter Stephens, and Andrew Barkley; and a life long friend, Tom Herndon.
