Gary Walker McKenzie, age 83, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.  He was born in Fairmont, NC on October 7, 1938 to the late Daniel Van Buren McKenzie and the late Mattie Andrews McKenzie.

Mr. McKenzie was a 1962 graduate of the UNC School of Pharmacy and served as a pharmacist for 58 years. He was an avid sports fan and a lifelong Carolina Tar Heel fan. He was an active member of St. Alban's Masonic Lodge in Lumberton and a member of Chestnut Street United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mable Freeman, Edith White, Linwood McKenzie, Vernon McKenzie, Charles McKenzie, and Janice Williams.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Ivey McKenzie of the home; his three children: Beth Goins (Mark) of High Point, NC, Greg McKenzie (Laurie) of Concord, NC, and Patricia Malpass (Mary) of Destin, FL; his stepdaughter, Tina Bryant of Zebulon, NC; one sister, Judy McKenzie of Destin, FL; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5 ^th Street, Lumberton. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00AM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Pastor Herbert Lowry officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
