Obituary

Gale Patsy Bailey, 74, of Manning, SC, left this world on August 25, 2023, to embark on her greatest adventure yet. Born on March 10, 1949, in Cartersville, GA, Gale was a spirited soul who always embraced her "hillbilly" roots and brought laughter wherever she went.

With a twinkle in her eye and stories for days, Gale charmed her friends with tales of her colorful family and mischievous escapades. She happily tackled life's challenges, simultaneously earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration while building a flourishing career in accounting, becoming one of Charlotte's first female executives in the 1980s.

Animals were Gale's kindred spirits, and she went to bat for them – quite literally. Arrested twice for defending their rights, she wore those badges of honor with pride. As a dedicated wild bird rehabilitator, Gale spread her wings and volunteered her time to relocate wildlife after hurricanes ravaged East Coast habitats.

The wild ride of Gale's life set its course for unconventional motherhood. She lovingly raised her daughter, Lisa, with a dash of tough love sprinkled with endless devotion. Gale fiercely wanted the best for Lisa, guiding her on the path of independent thinking until sometimes the two faced off like heavyweight champs like the great Spotted Owl argument of the '90s. Mother and daughter were inseparable – Gale turned guardian angel, staunch protector until her last breath.

But it was her role as a doting grandmother that brought out her squishiest side. When Gale's beloved granddaughter, Bailey, entered the scene, Gale melted into a puddle of love and joy. She was always there, ready to lend an ear, share invaluable wisdom, and treat Bailey to the occasional Starbucks fuel-up. She swelled with pride witnessing the incredible young lady Bailey has become, wrapping her heart around her like the perfect latte art.

Then, in the last chapter of her remarkable story, Gale and Ronnie decided on romance. A love story written in the stars, theirs was a partnership that redefined happiness. She had finally found her someone who matched her in kindness and selflessness. Ronnie showered her with love, spoiling her rotten. Gale couldn't believe someone could love like he did, but it was the real deal. They were a match made in heaven, with an extra heap of divine affection.

Let us not forget Gale's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She loved Jesus with all her heart and would do her part to spread the gospel to anyone she spoke with and as she never met a stranger, it was a lot of people. If she were writing this, she would want you to know that Jesus is the only way to heaven. He paid our sin debt with his own blood in the horrific death known as crucifixion, was dead and buried, and rose 3 days later conquering death. He did it for each one of us individually. Acknowledge your sin, accept his atoning sacrifice as the free gift it is, turn from your sin, and serve him the rest of your days.

Gale leaves behind loving partner, Ronnie Graves, adored daughter, Lisa Sayne (Eric), precious granddaughter, Bailey Sayne, and her nieces and nephews: Skye Finch, Wanda Millsap (Jimmy), Shea Corbin (Andy), Dana Woodall, and Rafe Woodall. The circle is now unbroken as Gale joins her parents, Hoyt and Essie Woodall, and the rest of the clan, Billie Goldsboro, Paul Woodall, Kenny Woodall, Boba Tietjens, Jerry Woodall, and Doug Woodall.

In honor of her fierce love for animals, contributions can be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a cause close to Gale's tender heart.

Gale Patsy Bailey wrote her final chapter with a touch of sparkle, a hearty laugh, and an army of loved ones by her side. May her vivacious spirit and memorable stories keep us smiling, as she waltzes across the heavens, reminding us to live each day with the fierce and free-wheeling spirit that defined her remarkable life.
