Furman Richardson, age 78, of Lumberton, NC died on Tuesday, Octber 6, 2009 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was born to Forest Richardson and Lucy Cartrett Richardson on February 4, 1931 in Columbus County, NC. He was a self-employed mechanic.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Wilkerson.

Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, Maebell Richardson of the home; three sons, Dale Richardson and Edward Richardson of Lumberton, NC and Jimmy Richardson of Fuquay Varina; one daughter, Patricia Lewis of Hope Mills, NC; one sister Levonia Norris of Lumberton, NC; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at East Lumberton Baptist Church with Rev. J. Michael Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th Street in Lumberton.
