Frederick Smith, age 69, of Lumberton, NC passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was born in Robeson County, NC on April 5, 1945 to the late Claude E. and Maggie Smith. He was a veteran of the United States Army and then employed as an electrician for Contempora Fabrics . Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Smith of Lumberton; and two sisters, Judy Tucker of GA, and Betty Lou Smith of OK. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Barbara Pittman Smith of the home; daughters, Wendy Smith Huffman of Greensboro, Marcia Smith Brown (Danny) of Lumberton, and Jill Smith of Lumberton; brothers, Teddy Smith of MD and Johnnie Smith of Greensboro; and seven grandchildren, Jared Huffman, Kristen, Kailee, and Ashlyn Brown, Jameson Parker, Tommi-Leigh, and Jackson Smith. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton. Burial will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
