Mr. Fred Charles Watts, age 82, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Whiteville. He was born in Columbus County on February 5, 1933 to the late Empie Watts and the late Mae Dow Watts. After 41 years of service, he retired from the US Air Force and Air National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Jane Watts of the home; two sons: Franklin Watts and wife, Mary Beth, of Sicily, Italy and John Watts and wife, Christina of Lake Wylie, SC; one brother, Banks Watts of Whiteville; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A time of visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Crumpler officiating. Burial will follow at Floyd Memory Gardens.
